Ob bei den alten The Klinik mit Mark Verhaegen und Dirk Ivens oder bei Front Line Assembly Rhys Fulber und Bill Leeb zusammentreffen: Wenn sich ein gegensätzliches Duo auf eine künstlerische Vision und Vorgehensweise einigen kann, steht im Ergebnis oft mehr als die Summe der Teile. Das hört man vor allem auf Soloalben der Beteiligten, denn diese fallen nicht selten gegenüber den gemeinsamen Werken ab. Bei Our Banshee ergab sich eine solche Situation, in der zwei völlig unterschiedliche musikalische Charaktere ein Meisterwerk geschaffen haben, und obwohl der in Oberhausen geborene Grieche Agi Taralas und der im Ruhrgebiet ansässige Noise-Experte Stefan Böhm mit 4200 erst ihr Debütalbum herausbringen, kann man darauf hören, welch großes Potenzial in diesen beiden Talenten steckt. Während sich Taralas dem klassischen Songwriting mit Electro-Pop-Hintergrund verschreibt, ist Böhm von Noise- und Industrial-Projekten wie vektor oder Pzychobitch bekannt und legt als DJ in entsprechenden Kreisen auf. Aus zwei völlig unterschiedlichen musikalischen Prägungen entstand so ein Stück Elektronik mit Gänsehautfaktor. Ungeachtet ihrer Anleihen bei Neurotic Fish, Second Voice oder Bigod 20 sind Our Banshee sicherlich keine Epigonen wie nicht wenige andere Debütanten in der Szene, und in 4200 steckt zwar viel EBM aber auch eine gehörige Eigenständigkeit, Abwechslung und Qualitäten, die prinzipiell jedem Album guttun: starke Songs und verdammt guter Gesang. Das fällt zugegebenermaßen erst beim dritten Hördurchlauf auf, und so viel Zeit sollte man auch in die Scheibe mit dem mysteriösen Titel 4200 investieren. Erst dann erschließt sich die Professionalität des Duos, das ein rundum ausgereiftes, kurzweiliges Werk und nichts weniger als einen der aufsehenerregendsten Einstände des Jahres vorgelegt hat.
